Find that Unique Gift in Ciatti's Cooking Classes!

Our cooking classes are the perfect way to beat the Winter blahs, learn something new, and overall, just have a new, fun, unique experience.  Cooking classes make the PERFECT gift for that "person that has everything" in your life!

So -- what exactly is a cooking class at Ciatti's?

Well, it starts out with some coffee -- because, after all, it is 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday!!

Then, you'll move into the kitchen.  What good is a cooking class if you can't get hands on??

In the kitchen,  you'll prepare and eat the appetizer and salad.  Then, you'll get hands on and see how the main dish is prepared.

While the chefs keep working on preparing enough of the main dish for everyone, you'll head over and learn how to make the dessert.  And, of course, you might get a little dirty!

Now, all of your hard work is done!  It's time to sit down, relax with a glass of wine, and wait for the main dish to come out to you!

Once in a while, the chefs will bring the dessert preparation out to you -- maybe you want to sit a little farther back!

When all is done, the chefs will head out to answer any questions you have.  You'll head home with a full recipe book of everything you made, any notes you took during the class, a full belly, and new friends.

Call us at 320-257-7900 today to purchase a spot in a Cooking Class as a holiday gift (you don't have to pick the date - just give them the voucher for a spot in a cooking class!).

Contact Abby at aschneider@ciattisristorante.com if you have any questions!  We can't wait to have you and yours into our kitchen as our guests!

Meet our Executive Chef Mark Marthaler!

Here at Ciatti's, we are so proud to have Chef Mark Marthaler running our kitchen!  As a guest, we're sure you've noticed his attention to detail, genuine care for you and your dining experience, and his fantastic staff that put together the amazing food you've come to expect at Ciatti's!

What you may not know, though, is everything that's brought Chef Mark to Ciatti's, and made him the Chef he is today!  Chef Mark started out working for 15 years at Anton's, then he spent eight years at Buca di Beppo.  From there, he spent two years at Giarrostto Toscano in Eden Prairie, four years at Doolittles, two and a half years at the St. Paul Grill, before landing here at Ciatti's - where we've been fortunate to have him for over six years!  While Chef Mark's absolute favorite food to prepare is Italian (and we're so thankful for that!), his favorite to eat is authentic Mexican and Seafood.

Chef Mark didn't always know that he wanted to be in a kitchen for the rest of his life!  For him, it started out that kitchen work was a better choice than working at the Gold n Plump factory - which would have been his dad's choice!  Chef Mark always enjoyed the gossip in the kitchen around holiday time, and started cooking to put himself through Cathedral High School and college.  After that, he did an accounting internship and swiftly found out that wasn't what he enjoyed.  He went back to cooking, and is still at it 37 years later.  We're certain that our restaurant would not be what it is today had that accounting internship worked out!!!

Chef Mark truly enjoys cooking, and uses any opportunity to prepare food he can.  Whether a charity needs something, other chefs need help at events, hosting for other restaurant friends and family, catering, or large holidays, preparing food is definitely a passion of his.

Outside of food, Chef Mark has a passion for traveling.  His dad gave him the "travel bug" as a young child.  He's been fortunate enough to travel many places - and of course take in the cuisine that each destination has to offer.  His favorite places on the planet are:  Banff, Canada; Maui; Florence, Italy; and the Hof Brau House in Munich, Germany.

Say "hi" to Chef Mark the next time you are in Ciatti's!  He truly appreciates every one of our guests, and cares about the food we are fortunate enough to bring to you!

Welcome to Ciatti's!

For years, Ciatti's Ristorante has been a staple of St. Cloud, MN.  From our time downtown, to our new location on Division Street and 27th Avenue North, we love being in St. Cloud!

What makes us so special?  We are not a chain!  With local ownership and management, we take great care in having unique menu, decor, and dining experience.

Relax and enjoy everything from family dining, a special date night, or Happy Hour in our Lounge after work.  Our Italian-inspired entrees, pastas, soups, salads and pizzas are all prepared in our restaurant, from scratch, and cooked only after you order them.

We know the most important ingredient is you, our guest.  That is why we are starting this blog.  We would like to invite you to get to know more about us, our food, our staff, and what we can do for you!

Besides our blog, you can keep up with us on Facebook , Twitter, and our Website.

Stay tuned for more blog posts to stay updated on everything that's going on in our restaurant -- coupons, specials, Happy Hours, and Cooking Classes are just a few of the things we'll let you know about on our blog!

Thank you for being our guest!
